Executive Chairman of MX Holdings
As the second generation to lead MX Holdings, Mike Lefton has been with the company for the entirety of his career. In 1984 he started his career as a scrap buyer at Pennex Aluminum. Over the years, he has held a variety of key leadership roles, including Trader for Metal Exchange, leading the RSI/Dross business unit, and overseeing the Transportation/Logistics department. In 1998, Mike led the development of the company’s proprietary trading software, which is still in use today. After serving as CEO from 2010 to 2017, Mike transitioned to Executive Chairman, where he works alongside the CEO to set the company’s strategic direction and preside over the board of directors.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an MBA from Washington University. He is actively involved in the community, currently serving as Board President for Variety the Children's Charity of St. Louis and on the boards of Barnes Jewish Hospital, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri, and the St. Louis Men's Group Against Cancer.
One of Mike’s favorite volunteer experiences is Variety’s Bikes for Kids program, where the Metal Exchange team builds bicycles for children with disabilities. He takes great pride in MX Holdings’ commitment to being people-focused and purpose-driven, ensuring that the company makes a positive impact on both its employees and the community.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys ice hockey, skiing, golf, traveling, and spending time with his family. His go-to karaoke song is “New York, New York,” and his favorite use of aluminum is sitting on an ice-cold bleacher seat while watching a hockey game.
CEO of MX Holdings
Since joining MX Holdings in 2016, Matt Rohm has served in several key leadership roles, including Chief Financial Officer (2016-2021) and Chief Operating Officer (2022), before being named Chief Executive Officer in 2023. In his current role, Matt is responsible for serving the needs of over 700 employees across Metal Exchange, Pennex, and MX Holdings, ensuring the company’s continued success and growth.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Bradley University and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to joining MX Holdings, Matt served in leadership positions at companies that include Energizer Holdings, Sun Edison, and Anheuser-Busch, where he served for 11 years, including 9 years supporting Metal Container Corporation and leading beverage can sheet procurement.
In addition to his professional responsibilities, he serves as a board member for the Missouri Humane Society and is an Advisory Board Member for Live Inspired by John O'Leary. He encourages all MX holdings employees to get involved in the community, and one of his favorite volunteer experiences while at the company was being involved with the STL Cardinal Toys drive for BJC Children's Hospital.
When it comes to MX Holdings, Matt takes pride in the company’s people, values, and culture. Outside of work, he enjoys walking his four dogs, golfing, cooking (particularly grilling and using his Blackstone), attending concerts, and, on occasion, singing his go-to karaoke song, "Pink Houses" by John Mellencamp. As for his favorite use of aluminum? Cans for cold beverages, of course!
Chief Financial Officer
Dan Jarvis has been with Metal Exchange since 2013, serving as Chief Financial Officer since 2022. In his role, he oversees financial operations, including strategy, compliance, tax, treasury, credit, and reporting for the Trading Division. Before becoming CFO, Dan held several key positions within the company, including Accounting Manager, Trading Division Controller, and Corporate Controller.
Dan earned both his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy Business Administration, with a minor in Economics, from Truman State University, as well as his Master’s in Accountancy. His leadership and dedication earned him the MXH Growth Champion award. One of Dan's favorite volunteering experiences at Metal Exchange has been participating in the Operation Food Search backpack program, which provides weekly sacks of kid-friendly, shelf-stable food to get students through the weekend when school meals are not available.
Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending time with his kids, hiking, traveling, and cooking. He is often found working on home improvement projects in his free time. His go-to karaoke song is “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey, and at home, his family enjoys drinking plenty of canned water—showcasing their appreciation for aluminum.
Vice President of Scrap and Global Recycling
Craig Weber has been with Metal Exchange since 1995 and currently serves as Vice President of Scrap & Global Recycling. In this role, Craig leads a team of 10 buyers and traders, overseeing the financial results for the Recycled Materials (International & Domestic), Foundry, Billet, and Processing business units. His extensive experience in the scrap and recycling industry has made him a key leader within Metal Exchange.
Craig’s career at Metal Exchange has taken him across the globe. Starting as a Scrap Buyer in St. Louis in 1995, he advanced to Scrap Trader and eventually became Business Unit Manager. His international experience includes serving as Vice President for Metal Exchange International in Zurich, Switzerland, and leading the Scrap Business Unit in Shanghai, China. Craig has also held leadership roles in Singapore before returning to St. Louis in 2022 as Vice President of Scrap & Global Recycling.
Craig holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Maryville University. He is passionate about giving back and has been involved with organizations such as the Little Bit Foundation and the APA Animal Protection Agency.
What Craig enjoys most about Metal Exchange is the people he works with. Outside of work, he loves playing pickleball, hiking, traveling, cheering for STL City Soccer, and spending time with his many dogs. His go-to karaoke song is "Love Shack" by the B-52's, and his favorite use of aluminum? His wife’s Tesla.
Vice President of International and Business Development
Kevin Schmidt has been with Metal Exchange since 2006 and currently serves as Vice President of International and Business Development. In this role, he oversees Metal Exchange International, focusing on growth initiatives, new markets, and developing business opportunities globally. Kevin’s extensive career at Metal Exchange has seen him rise through various roles, from export documentation to leading international business development.
Kevin started his journey at Metal Exchange as a temporary worker in export documentation before quickly transitioning to a full-time role in domestic logistics. He later moved into supply-chain planning and then became a junior trader in the Dross/Foundry/RSI sectors. After relocating to Shanghai, Kevin played a key role in expanding scrap sales into China and strengthening relationships in procurement. He returned to the U.S. to manage procurement in Semis and later became Business Unit Manager of Semis. What Kevin appreciates most about Metal Exchange is the company's commitment to its people and the support it provides to those who work hard and seek opportunities.
Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a focus on management and marketing, from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). He is also an Eagle Scout and a former "Big" with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, which he considers one of his most rewarding volunteer experiences.
Outside of work, Kevin enjoys snow skiing, backpacking, cooking, and hunting. While he doesn’t usually do karaoke, if pressed, he’d choose the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song. His favorite uses of aluminum are cans, for their light weight and ease of travel, and foil, for its versatility in cooking.
Vice President of Value Added Products
Ryan Adams has been with Metal Exchange since 2008 and currently leads the Value-Added Products segment, which encompasses Aluminum Prime, Common Alloy, and Light Gauge aluminum rolled products. Throughout his career at Metal Exchange, Ryan has held several key roles, beginning as a Customer Service Coordinator in the Semis Business Unit, to becoming a logistics coordinator, managing domestic shipments, and later became a Trader of rolled products and becoming the National Sales Manager before taking on his current role.
Ryan has been recognized for his contributions to Metal Exchange, receiving the Growth Award in both 2021 and 2022. He also led the acquisition of Medalco Metals, expanding the company’s rolled products team to include foil and light gauge. Ryan holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and has completed several professional development programs, including the Penn State Executive Program and Tugboat Paced Growth Executive Education Seminar.
One of Ryan’s most meaningful volunteer experiences has been working with Food Outreach in St. Louis, a nonprofit dedicated to providing nutritional support to individuals living with HIV or cancer. Ryan particularly enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, assisting the chef in preparing meals for those in need.
Ryan values Metal Exchanges' entrepreneurial spirit and the company’s commitment to professional growth. He appreciates the way MX empowers its employees to think creatively and take initiative, fostering an environment of innovation.
Outside of work, Ryan enjoys supporting his children’s activities—his daughter, Piper, in cheerleading, and his son, Nolan, in basketball and golf. He also enjoys playing golf, attending live music events, and cheering for Mizzou Football. When it comes to karaoke, Ryan’s song choice is a toss up between “Revival” by Zach Bryan or anything by Travis Tritt. His favorite use of aluminum is in the kitchen, where aluminum foil is indispensable for everything from food storage to lining the smoker pit.
Business Unit Manager - Prime and Risk Management
Steve Kalfus has been with Metal Exchange since 1996 and currently serves as Business Unit Manager for Prime and Global Risk. In his role, Steve focuses on trading physical prime aluminum and financial futures products, implementing strategic risk management practices, and managing the company's terminal market and geographic premium positions. He is dedicated to collaborating with both physical and financial counterparties to further mutual growth.
Throughout his career at Metal Exchange, Steve has held various roles in trading, risk management, business solutions, and global logistics. His extensive experience enables him to navigate the dynamic aluminum markets and contribute to the success of Metal Exchange and its customers.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management with a minor in German from Truman State University. Steve enjoys giving back to his community, and his favorite volunteer opportunity that he has gotten involved with at Metal Exchange is the Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl-A-Thon. He also supports the charities St. Louis Men’s Group Against Cancer, Stray Rescue, and CARE STL.
What Steve enjoys most about his work is the variety each day brings and the ever-changing market landscape. Outside of work, he enjoys morning runs, walking his dogs, speaking German, St. Louis Blues hockey and Cardinals baseball. His favorite use of aluminum? A cold, frosty beverage.
Business Unit Manager - Moulton
Tom Kaesberg has been with Metal Exchange since 2007 and currently serves as the Moulton Business Unit Manager. In this role, Tom leads the scrap processing facility in Moulton, Alabama, overseeing commercial decisions and guiding the overall direction of the site. He is also a senior member of the scrap trading division, involved in both selling and procurement, while developing new business opportunities.
Tom’s journey at Metal Exchange started as a buyer before advancing to trader, senior trader, and ultimately Business Unit Manager. His extensive experience in the scrap trading industry has made him a key leader within the company.
Tom holds a Business degree from Webster University. One of the things he values most about working at Metal Exchange is the strong relationships with colleagues and the company’s excellent reputation in the industry.
Outside of work, Tom enjoys spending quality time with his wife, two children, and friends.
Business Unit Manager Recycled Materials
Matt Lipski has been with Metal Exchange since 2001 and currently serves as a Business Unit Manager within the recycled materials division. In this role, Matt focuses on managing the billet business while expanding his knowledge of the RSI and foundry sectors.
Matt began his career in the logistics group as an import/export coordinator, managing shipments of imported scrap and materials. In 2003, he transitioned into trading as a scrap buyer and quickly progressed to a trader role. Over the years, Matt has held several leadership positions, including Copper Business Unit Manager and Can ECI Business Unit Manager, before taking on his current role.
Matt holds a Master of Arts in Management from Lindenwood University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Saint Louis University. One of his favorite volunteer experiences was participating in an APA pack walk with 15 fellow MX employees, all passionate about dogs.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, watching his son participate in soccer and competitive swimming. Attending St. Louis City SC and St. Louis Blues games with his wife and son. He also loves cooking for family and friends year-round, occasionally playing golf, and reading. His go-to karaoke songs include This Night by Billy Joel, Brian Wilson by Barenaked Ladies, Rainbow by Kacey Musgraves, and Don't Stop Me Now by Queen.
His favorite uses of aluminum include everyday packaging like soda cans and food containers, as well as the aluminum in finstock, which helps provide cooling and heat dispersion for air conditioning—something he truly appreciates during hot summer days.
Director of Logistics and Customer Experience
Sean McHugh joined Metal Exchange in 2018 and currently serves as the Director of Logistics and Customer Experience. In this role, Sean provides leadership and strategic guidance, ensuring a seamless customer experience. He is responsible for developing and executing logistics solutions across all touchpoints in the customer journey, leading to increased efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
With over 35 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management, Sean has held various titles such as Global Logistics Manager, Director of Supply Chain and Logistics, and General Manager. He has supported industries ranging from military fabrications to consumer packaged goods, petrochemical, steel, and aluminum.
Sean holds a Bachelor of Science in Ceramic Engineering from the University of Missouri - Rolla. Reflecting on his time at Metal Exchange, Sean considers it the best work experience of his career, praising the company's supportive culture, visionary leadership, and commitment to individual professional growth.
Outside of work, Sean enjoys traveling, with a special interest in visiting China and Europe.
International Scrap Business Unit Manager
Scott Johnson has been with Metal Exchange since 2006 and currently serves as International Scrap Business Unit Manager. In his role, Scott oversees international scrap sales, driving global business growth and fostering key relationships in the scrap industry.
Throughout his career at Metal Exchange, Scott has held various roles, including Trader, Export Sales Manager, and Copper Scrap Business Unit Manager. His extensive experience in scrap trading has been essential in expanding the company’s global footprint.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Science with a minor in Management. One of his favorite aspects of working at Metal Exchange is his co-workers, who make the work environment collaborative and enjoyable.
Director of Financial Planning and Analysis
Megan Hunt joined Metal Exchange in 2023 as Director of Finance, Planning and Analysis. She leads the Trading and Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis team, overseeing critical functions such as the annual budgeting and forecasting process, monthly financial reviews, and presentations to the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team. Megan’s team also develops financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making across the organization.
Megan’s career began in agricultural commodity merchandising and logistics at Bunge. She later transitioned into agriculture banking, focusing on portfolio risk management and credit. Before joining Metal Exchange, she returned to Bunge, where she worked in Financial Planning and Analysis, overseeing global processing financials and later corporate financials reported to external investors, as well as mergers and acquisitions.
Megan has led several impactful financial projects throughout her career, including financial reporting transitions and mergers and acquisitions initiatives. She holds an MBA from Eastern Illinois University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois.
One of Megan’s favorite volunteer experiences was participating in Operation Food Search with team members from the Finance team. She enjoys the family feel of Metal Exchange and appreciates the continuous growth opportunities and projects that keep the team engaged and learning.
Outside of work, Megan loves spending time with her family, traveling, running, hiking, and staying involved in her children's activities. Although karaoke isn’t on her bucket list, if forced, she’d likely sing Sweet Caroline. Her favorite use of aluminum? Her phone and headphones for music, as well as transportation—whether it’s her car for daily commutes or airplanes for family trips.
Managing Director of Metal Exchange International
Boris Santosi joined Metal Exchange in 2024 as Managing Director, leading the Metal Exchange International team out of Zurich. In his role, Boris focuses on the sourcing and sales of aluminum value-added products, including extrusion billets, foundry alloys for automotive castings, and wire rods for electrical conductors. He is also responsible for building scrap trading capabilities and offering services aimed at decarbonization and sustainability.
Before joining Metal Exchange, Boris held several leadership roles, including Director of Global Export Sales at Aluminium Bahrain (2011-2024) and Managing Director for the Middle East, Africa & India at RioTinto Alcan International Network (2003-2009). He also served as Vice President of Precious Metals at Alcan Southern Africa.
Boris holds a Master’s in Engineering Renewable Energy Systems from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Business from the University of Oxford and a Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainability from the University of Cambridge.
What Boris appreciates most about working at Metal Exchange is the company’s genuine care for its people. Outside of work, he enjoys archery, kayaking, and hiking, with his favorite use of aluminum being the precision scope on his recurve archery bow.
Vice President of Corporate Credit
Daryl Coleman has been with Metal Exchange since 1996 and currently serves as Vice President of Corporate Credit. In his role, Daryl oversees the Credit and Accounts Receivable functions across all MX entities. His responsibilities include setting and reviewing customer credit limits, monitoring accounts, ensuring adherence to payment terms, and managing all corporate insurance policies, including Workers Comp, General Liability, Auto, Property, and Cargo insurance.
Daryl began his career at Metal Exchange in 1996 as Credit Manager and was promoted to Vice President in 2001. Prior to joining the company, he was Regional Credit Manager for Digital Equipment Corporation. Daryl is a member of the National Association of Credit Management (NACM).
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and Marketing from Missouri State University and an MBA from Webster University. Daryl is also actively involved in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program through Metal Exchange, where he has been a "Big Brother" for the past seven years, in addition to supporting the organization through his United Way contributions.
What Daryl values most about working at Metal Exchange is the strong encouragement of personal growth within the organization and the opportunity to work alongside great people. Outside of work, Daryl enjoys golfing, playing the guitar, and is currently learning Spanish. His go-to karaoke song is "Hotel California," and his favorite use of aluminum is his iPhone.
National Sales Manager
Pamela Bridgeman joined Metal Exchange in 2024 as National Sales Manager for Common Alloy Rolled Products. In this role, she is responsible for managing critical relationships with key accounts and leading a team of sales managers and inside sales coordinators to achieve both business unit and company-wide goals.
Pamela brings extensive industry experience, having previously served as Sales Manager for RioTinto VAP Products along with decades of experience in the metals industry. She has been involved in professional organizations, including the Association of Women in the Metal Industries (AWMI) where she has held both local and national board positions, the Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI), and the Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC).
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Rockhurst University, and has also earned multiple certifications in business development and management from institutions such as Columbia Business School and Texas A&M. Pamela’s community involvement includes volunteering with St. Louis Food Outreach, which has been one of her favorite philanthropic activities while at the company
Pamela is proud of how her team at Metal Exchange collaborates and plays to each other’s strengths, fostering a supportive and high-performing environment. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, rescuing dogs, and cooking. As a dedicated cook supporting her industry, she’s a frequent user of aluminum foil! Her go-to karaoke song is “Crazy” by Patsy Cline.
Business Unit Manager - Common Alloy
Edwin van Norden has been with Metal Exchange since 2022, where he serves as the Business Unit Manager for Common Alloy. In this role, Edwin is responsible for overseeing the financial performance of the Common Alloy Business Unit, developing growth strategies, defining team goals, and managing key supplier relationships to ensure the continued success of the business.
Prior to his current role, Edwin held the position of Global Procurement Manager for Aluminum Rolled Products at Metal Exchange. His background in procurement and operations has equipped him with the expertise to lead high-performing teams and drive business growth.
Edwin holds a Master of Science in Operations Research from Columbia University in New York. He is actively involved in community service and has volunteered at the Food Outreach nutrition center, a cause that is close to his heart.
